Climbing

The formation of Valsesia is very diverse: super-technical slabs, vertical walls, strength roofs, cracks, and some overhanging routes.

The formation of Valsesia is very diverse; depending on the areas, including the lower valley, it ranges from red porphyry to limestone; from well-worked gneiss with notches and crimps in some cliffs to more granite-like gneiss, typical of the upper valley.

This variety is also reflected in the difficulty of the walls: super-technical slabs, vertical walls, strength roofs, cracks, and some overhanging routes with grades ranging between 4th and 8th, capable of satisfying all free climbing enthusiasts. Additionally, Alagna features a beautiful via ferrata, which extends from 2396 meters to 2700 meters over approximately 800 meters in length and includes a Tibetan bridge.

Some of the most interesting routes are:
The Torre delle Giovine is an impressive and historic monolith that overlooks the village of Boccioleto. Its climbing history, through cable cars and the simplest routes, dates back to the 1930s. Today, the routes are entirely bolted with resin. Falesia Ronco in the village of Fervento is the largest cliff in the area, with numerous difficulty levels, beautiful worked and rough rock, and a climbing style that is never too severe and always enjoyable. G. Falsetti is the first cliff established in Valsermenza. The site is very convenient, easily accessible, and cool in summer. The climbing here mainly develops on technical slabs.
