THE WORLD AND EUROPEAN KAYAK CHAMPIONSHIPS HAVE BEEN HELD ON THE SESIA RIVER.
The deep passion for unspoiled nature, its clear waters, suggestive views, and landscapes of majestic beauty, have made the Sesia the most beautiful river in Italy, which hosted the World Canoe and Kayak Championships in 2002.
The kayak differs from the canoe in the shape of the boat, with much more elongated and flattened ends. The paddle for propulsion has a double wide blade, and the paddler sits on a seat placed inside the small hull.
